Ok guys this league is meant to be an active sim league the rules of the league are still in the works so more may come to follow as we fill up the league, any suggestions of rules should be submitted via PM to an admin.

    GAMEPLAY:

We will be playing on Superstar difficulty with 8 min quarters with a playoff format of 3-3-5-7 that way we don't have too long to wait for the playoffs to finish and can still create a great matchup in the Conference Finals and NBA Finals. We are going with the 58 game season.

    GENERAL GAMEPLAY RULES:

Basketball is a team sport so the rule here is you should not have one player doing ALL the work. Make sure your reserves are getting game time. You will be required to give your starters some rest and utilize your bench (this doesn't mean that you can't have someone play a lot of minutes just that you must give your bench a chance to play). With that said you shouldn't have one player taking all the shots or scoring all the points, again this doesn't mean that you can't have someone score a lot of points as long as they didn't take an overabundance of shots

EX. Lebron James scores 36 points and shoots 12/18 from the field that is ok but if he shot 12/36 then we have a problem.

    OFFENSE:

    FAST BREAKS:
The fast break is one of the most exciting plays in basketball but not when someone runs them every time they get the ball. You can only run the fast break off of turnovers and blocked shots NO CHERRY PICKING.

    SHOT SELECTION:
Along with proper ball distribution you must also play a realistic type of game. It is not considered sim to run down the court and shoot three pointers all day long the only time we should see your team shoot more than 30% of its shots from beyond the arc is when you are trying to dig yourself out of a hole. Mix it up, get points in the paint, and take mid-range jumpers just don't try to get a man open for the three every time.

    DEFENSE:

    DEFENSIVE PRESSURE:

You can pressure on D as much as you are comfortable with the only real issue here is attempting to steal the inbound pass after a score. DO NOT camp out on the other end of the floor trying to steal the inbound pass you should be playing a half court style of defense unless it's late in the game and the score calls for you to utilize the Full Court Press or Trap. Also you shouldn't be running around the court with a player trying to intercept an inbound pass after a timeout or dead ball situation (a lot of steals can be made by deflecting the pass with the guy guarding the inbound play)

    USER STEALS:
It is very frustrating when the ball is stolen, but it is a part of the game, what is not a part of basketball is a defender constantly swatting at the ball and getting called for the reach. You are allowed to go for the steal but make smart decisions about it not only does this give your opponent a fair chance but it also keeps your players out of foul trouble early. Don't go for the steal attempt every time someone touches the ball (this does not mean you can't attempt to steal the pass, just don't man up on the ball handler and jam on the X button).

    TRADING AND FA SIGNING:
There will be a limit on trading and FA signing, you will be allowed to make two total trades during the season with no more than 5 players leaving your team, draft picks will count as players in trades so for example a trade sending two players and one draft pick would count as one of your two trades and three of the five player limit.

FA signing will be limited to three players, you cannot sign more than three free agents in a season so do not make offers to more than three in the event they all accept.

IF YOU PLAY SOMEONE WHO IS BREAKING THESE RULES YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PM ONE OF THE ADMINS ABOUT YOUR COMPLAINT. DO NOT USE THE CHATBOX OR FORUMS TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OTHER PLAYERS, COMPLAINTS SHOULD BE A PRIVATE MATTER ANYONE WHO DOES NOT FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE.
